Naima Adedapo Reveals Album Cover Shoot

American Idol Seaosn 10 finalist Naima Adedapo recently revealed her highly-anticipated album cover shoot on Facebook earlier today. Naima tweeted back in January that she signed a record deal with Peak Records.  According to published reports, Naima will first release a 3-song EP this month (produced by Warryn Campbell) followed by her debut album release later on this year.

Much of the look is close-up shots of the Milwaukee, WI Nigerian vocalist Naima wearing, presumably,  designs from her close Senegalese friend Adama Bah. Naima has from her time on the popular singing talent show been a huge supporter of African wax print fabrics so it comes as no surprise that these designs are featured front and center for this new album cover portraits.

*UPDATE: Naima just confirmed to CulturalToast.com that Adama Bah, a tailor in Chicago owner of Goree Shop, did her West African outfits for this shoot! Awesome, isn’t it?

Couples On The Go: Nia Long & Ime Udoka + Tracee Ellis Ross & Bu Thiam

Halloween just wrapped up this past Monday but prior to that day nine-months-pregnant Nia Long was seen with her boyfriend Ime Udoka (Nigerian-American San Antonio Spurs basketball player) and her son Massai Jr at Hollywood’s hot spot, Mr. Bones. The bundle of joy will be Nia’s second child and Ime’s first. Nia and Ime expressed their happiness for the November 2011 issue of Ebony Magazine.

Tracee Ellis Ross celebrated her 39th birthday with boyfriend Bu Thiam (Akon’s brother & Senior VP of A&R at Def Jam) in Altanta. As you can recalled Tracee and Bu have been under the radar for awhile now. We first reported on these two when Tracee was in town filming her hit BET series, Reed The Lines.

We of course are drawn to what Tracee worn for her b’day bash/Watch The Throne After Party as evident by our Tumblr page! This black and white animal print mini was first worn by Keisha Buchanan at the D&G Party hosted by Net-A-Porter and Mr. Porter back in July. For her birthday celebration in Atlanta, Tracee paired the same get-up with droolworthy Azzedine Alaia lace-up calf hair platform boots. FYI: Tracee wore the same dress way back in July 2011 at Club Mansion.  We love that Tracee re-wore what she has in her closet! Shop the dress here!

Star of the upcoming ABC series Charlie’s Angels actress Annie Ilonzeh poses on the red carpet with her co-stars Rachael Taylor and Minka Kelly. The threesome were there to present with fellow Charlie’s Angels actress Drew Barrymore. Don’t you like how each lady wore a different color dress?

Former Old Spice guy Isaiah Mutasfa will join the cast of Charlie’s Angels as the love interest for Annie’s character, Detective Angel Kate Prince, reports The Hollywood Reporter. Eye candy AND a rising Nigerian-American on primetime TV makes for must-see TV on my end. While we wait for ABC to debut Charlie’s Angels on September 23rd, check out Annie’s brief appearance on Entourage.
